Go

Go

From the Word, came the word that the world was made. Then the prize of the creation was created, you. Well man, not Mann, mankind. We were made to have fellowship with God, to be with him in fellowship. What an interesting thought. Was God lonely? Does he need us just to praise him?  No. The rocks will praise him so that can’t be it. Truth is from creation of Adam to the fall, God walked with him. It isn’t recorded that Adam asked God to walk with him God just did.

I love my children and I want to be with them, same with God. We are His creation after all. He wants to be with us. Cursed! God cursed the land! Caused man to sweat while he worked! Work?! What is that? Adam sinned and God can’t be around sin. We sin and cannot be around God. (Thankful for I John 1:9)

God also made a way for us to be in fellowship again with him. Blood! Not just blood, but blood from a lamb. Christ is the Lamb. Perfect Christ shed his perfect blood to reconnect us with the Perfect God.

Born from a virgin to break the chain of sin passed down from man (Adam) Christ is born! He lives perfect and dies perfect, broken and ashamed but perfect. Best part is that when he left, he left us with these words.

“…Wait for the promise of the Father..” “..It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth…” Acts 1

We commit sin. Got it.

We deserve Hell. Got it.

Christ died for us. Got it.

Christ sanctified us. Got it.

Christ says tell others. Got it…wait about that last part?

    3. God’s call is the priority.
  2. Commitment
    1. Commitment is the following though of.
    2. Be committed to the priority of God’s call
  3. Completion
    1. You start here stay here;
    2.  Quitting is not in God’s will.

The Scriptures are as follows…. John 17:4, Acts20:1, IITim 4:7and Heb 12:1

(2Ti 4:7)  I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

(Heb 12:1)  Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

A Lightbulb Moment!

From the forward of Bibilcal Missions by Roy Dearmore, Ron Thomas writes,

” The best way to disciple is one on one in bodily presence. What better way to teach than to walk and talk personally with someone. unfortunately, this means is not always possible. Time and space limit our ability to personally, bodily, disciple everyone. Tapes and personal correspondence can be a means of placing our imprint on the life of another individual. Much of the New Testament is a collection of letters written for the purpose of instruction, correction, reproof. and admonition. Another means of transfer and discipleship is an extended form of the written page. Why not write books? Why not pour those years of experience and knowledge into books so that others can profit? Books can travel places we cannot personally go. Books can live on beyond our expected years and touch lives beyond our lifetime.”

Who knows the book i pulled this from? It is 667 pages of “dry as cracker juice” (Dr Head) information on mission and working in the field build churches, It was required reading for a class I took at GBBI. This short paragraph changed me. It changed my perspective on reading and the benefit from it. I never considered reading as something to do as a means to be better personally. I had a lightbulb moment. The rest of the book I dont remember  but I remember this paragraph. To be taught by Spurgeon, or RGLEE, or the list is endless, once read a book by Dr Sexton he wrote in the 80s on building a bus ministry. Made possible by books. Read Read and read some more.

Proverbs 3:13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

Proverbs 4:5 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

and on and on Solomon talks about getting wisdom from learning and knowledge from understanding. May the Lord help me as I grow in Knowledge and Wisdom.

But we have the mind of Christ.

1 Corinthians Chapter 2 16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Paul said it, not me… The mind of Christ. Who can know it? We can! “10 But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit” We are sealed upon Salvation. When we confess our sins and accept Christ we are born again! At this time we are given the Holy Spirit one-third of God lives and dwells in us. Have you thought about that today? I bet not. I bet you didnt wake up and acted like one-third of the trinity lives in you.

Philippians 4:8
King James Version (KJV)

8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Is this how we live? I don’t. I want to but I don’t. I strive to, but i fail. I claim I John 1:9.
The mind of Christ, When Jesus was being tempted he quoted Scripture. When I’m tempted I give in. The mind of Christ is a life time study, but for now let’s look at it this way. Paul said we have the mind of Christ, if we died to our selves we would live like we had the mind of Christ.

Today, be the worm….

So I am wondering, “Am I the worm? Or am I the robin?”  Jesus tells us in that we shouldn’t worry about thing’s of this life. Consider the lily, consider the birds of the air. They don’t fret about the need’s of today. Why should we.

Jesus Saying, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

I was sitting at Dr Reed’s office not long ago and I watched as the robins enjoyed eating the worms that was still on the surface of the grass, before escaping from the heat of the day. Robin birds pulls on this worm and gulps it down. I of course am reminded of Jesus telling us that this bird did not live the day before worrying if there was food for the next. Jesus tells us that the bird doesnt even plant a harvest let alone reap one. But I got to thinking, the worm had the lack of same thought. You see the worm didnt awake and know that he would be breakfast. Let me get to my point. Are we as Christian’s used to be a blessing or do we take the blessing. The worm gave of himself to be a blessing (he gave all to the point of death) and the bird took the blessing that God provided for it. So again wich one are we? Do go around expecting to be blessed as the robin was expecting the worm to be there, or do we give when we don’t plan on it so that others may be blessed.  Are we the worm or the robin?

Power of Choice

Exodus 32:3 And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.

Intresting is it not, the Isrelites are wondering around in the desert complaing and mumbling againtgs God for lack of provision. They decied to follow there own god and make a calf and have a party.  If they had nothing (like they acted) then how come when it came to serving themeslves they suddenly had a lot?

How are we differant? How come so many churches are facing income issues? Please join in the Great Recovery of our homes and churches.
